Our Story

Our story began in 2003, when Mary Ann Spencer and Joyce Baldinucci opened The Tenth Muse Gallery in the heart of Maplewood Village. Over the years, it became a beloved local destination, known for its thoughtfully curated collection of artisan-made jewelry, gifts, and home accents.

In October 2019, new owner Brian Dittmar reimagined the shop as Maker + Muse — a fresh, modern evolution of The Tenth Muse. While the name and look may have changed, our passion remains the same: discovering exceptional pieces from talented independent makers and bringing them to our community.
